Such a sad an unfortunate sight
our city roads present sometimes that one is forced to cease doing everything
and start pondering over what prevails and what lies ahead of it. On every
traffic light, I see people stopping on red signal and moving swiftly on the
green. Where has the outlaw denizen of the city vanished into? Where has the
road rage disappeared from this world? Honking of horns is nowhere to be heard
and the streets wear nothing less than a deserted look. Adding more to the woes
is absence of potholes and broken patches of road that we all have been
accustomed to since time immemorial. If this continues for long, there would be
immense safety on road and hence our city roads shall become way safer than
they have ever been. What should be done in order to bring the chaos and
traffic snarls back to the roads? “Ever since the lane system was adopted by
drivers, the flow of traffic has become so organized that I often get confused
and am forced to look into the GPS to check whether I am in the right town or
not. In order to avoid such confusions and mental harassment, I suggest that
lane system be abolished” suggested Ameesh Gupta, a student. Speaking to the
correspondent, the in charge of vehicular movement, Shri Maruti Chand Figo said
that the improved traffic in the city is a serious threat to the years old
image of the city which was once known for traffic woes. “The so-called
betterment of traffic is only rosy to look at, we had incidents reported where
drivers lost their mind on witnessing the sudden change in city’s traffic
condition and they had to be admitted to the psychiatry ward at the local
hospital” said Shri Figo. According to a post on a popular social networking
website, a city based NGO is planning a protest followed by a candle march originating
from the bus stand on Sunday evening. The aim of the NGO is to create awareness
about the good side of traffic hiccups and the social stigmas attached to the
traffic problems. “Our NGO is continuously trying to help the city get restored
to the same congested, polluted, and noisy dwelling that it was till few weeks
ago before the citizens developed sane traffic sense” lamented Ms Sonia,
Mis-managing director at the NGO. Sources have also reported that the sudden appearance
of sane traits related to driving is result of cosmic radiations that
penetrated the atmosphere over the country. The rays are believed to have been
sent using equipment launched by neighbouring country to hamper the prevailing
joy and comfort among the residents.
